Anyone can post to the test drive meme, including duplicates! Please put your character name and canon in the title of your comment.
All threads are considered open to everyone! Tag around and make some friends (or enemies)!
If you decide to apply to the game, you can use your TDM threads for your app samples! You only need to provide seven comments if you use TDM samples.
You can't be "late" to a TDM! This will be considered open until the next one goes live next month.
You can make up your own scenario, interact with one of the locations in the game, use the welcome process of your character selecting a god house, or use our optional prompt below!
You do not need to pick a god house to play on the TDM! You can have your character still in the process of discussing/deciding/despairing instead.
If you are accepted to the game, you can keep TDM threads as game canon as long as you fudge some of the details depending on your original thread. If you aren't sure exactly how to do this, you can always ask a mod.

❧ optional scenario.
As you enter Asgard proper, many of the natives have gathered into curious crowds to greet these mysterious children of the World Tree. Some of them carry baskets of flowers and nervously offer one to any Wanderers that come near. They are vibrant and colorful, picked from the wilds surrounding Asgard, and they might have an odd effect on your character if they sniff the flowers directly.

Purple flowers will make your character very giggly and easily amused by everything they see and hear.
Orange flowers will make your character feel very warm all over, like the sun is beating down on them directly.
Blue flowers will make your character somewhat short and impatient with anything that seems like even a minor inconvenience to them.

Effects of the flowers can wear off anywhere between a few minutes to an hour. And for those new to Asgard, this scenario aligns with some of the general curses we might have in the game!

"You have but to ask." He assures. "I am, perhaps, a little excessively proud of her, but Ondolinde is mine, and I am always pleased to expound on her glories."

He steps inside and holds the door open for them.

"Ah." He murmurs, pleased as he looks around.

"A lovely collection!"

"I'll keep it in mind~"

A few silent steps to carry the nymph inside... then they freeze. Wide eyes stare out over the shelves and tables, lips parted ever so slightly in the typical display of wonder. "Gosh-"

Fran's never seen more than a few books gathered together before, maybe a traveler with a case or some sort. Libraries were something for larger towns and cities.

"Incredible!... Where would one even start?"

Turgon makes an approving noise.

"Ah, see - there are different tongues represented here too! We might indeed be able to find some answers. Although if you are wanting to consider reading for simple pleasure, we might have to hunt a little."

Even as they walk, Fran's head turns from side to side, lagging behind him as they scan over the seemingly countless books and titles. So much to read! They could easily dump a decade or two into this place and make a solid dent on those shelves.

"Hmm? Anything is nice to read, though. I just like new things. Especially if it's about humans and their odd cultures! Or elves, I suppose." Added more as a side note, it was far easier to sit down and talk to elves in their world.

Turgon has, somehow, managed to find his way straight to the architecture section.

"Ah, a fellow book lover!" He smiles. "I am in much the same position, although I do have a fondness for books on building, I must confess. Is there something you particularly enjoy?"

Books, conversation, neat trinkets. Anything interesting really will do. But for now Fran simply nods.

"Oh? I suppose..." A surprisingly good question. The nymph lets out a light humm. "Hmm, folk tales and music are both very nice! It's hard to narrow it down to just one thing."

"Hm. I fear I am not the right member of my family to ask about music." He says apologetically.

"But for folk tales you might try the history section to begin with, I suppose..."

"Eheh, that's fine. I did say, my interests are fairly broad. I enjoy learning about the mortal races!"

Their head glances about, considering. "Now... How would I find those sections? Is there a pattern?"

[OOC: I have no idea what system this library theoretically uses. Semi modern?]

((ooc: me neither, I'm making it up as we go))

"Pretty much any cousin other than me would probably be better for music." Turgon acknowledges wryly. "But history, well, that I can help you look for, at least! I fear I am unsure as to what system this library uses, but I suppose if we check the contents of a book or two per shelving section we might get some idea?"

That horned head bobs a few times, blinking over the shelves as they walked. "Ah- I suppose so!" They returned, reaching out to check one particular book. 'Vaulted Arches in Modern Architecture'... Hmmm, not quite what they were after.

It only takes a few moments for a lightbulb to click. "Perhaps we could ask someone? I imagine someone maintains this place." It'd be much faster than checking individual books, if a little less fun.

"Oh! That is a good point." He nods. "I am so used to my own library, I suppose, it never occured to me... but yes, there should be someone to look after all of these, I'm sure."

"Hmmm. I'll take a look around for one. Feel free to settle down with a book, I'll come back here!"

'Should' is a very conditional statement. In true library fashion, it takes a surprisingly long time to hunt down the librarian. As if they had some preternatural sense that allowed them to hide from someone looking for them.

Eventually though, the nymph returns, a few leather-bound books in hand as they settled down beside Turgon. "Eheh, found them." They hum, pulling aside one of them to start with. Though, their gaze does drift over to whatever the elf seems to have retrieved. "Which book did you choose?"

Turgon looks up distractedly and smiles.

"Ah, you found them! I saw that book on vaulted arches you picked up earlier." He explains. "Tis fascinating reading!"

"Ah! I'm glad you liked it~"

They nod, simply blinking over the book and offering a soft smile before turning their attention to their own reading material. Fran can and will stay there until the middle of the night reading if no one stops them.
